• The University Identity Card must be produced at the counter to borrow books.
  • Books of permanent reference nature, past papers and periodicals will be issued only for photocopying purposes.

  1. A fine of Rs. 15.00 per day will be imposed in respect of each Reference book not returned by the due date.
  2. A fine of Rs.10.00 per day will be imposed in respect of each Lending book not returned by the due date.
  3. Students who lose their Cloak Room tokens will be called upon to pay a fine of Rs.25.00
  4. All payments should be made to the Circulation Desk from; 9.30a.m. to 11.30a.m. (Tuesday through Saturday), 1.30p.m. to 6.30p.m. (Sunday and Monday)

The Librarian may recall books at any time and the borrower must return books immediately when called upon to do so.

  1. Marking and defacing of books is strictly forbidden. Students should report if any marks on or damage to books is found to the issuing counter.  In the absence of such a report the books will be presumed to have been in good condition when loaned, and the borrower will be held responsible and fined for any damage observed at the time the books are returned.
  2. The borrower will be liable to pay the full cost of replacement of a book, if it is damaged and any other fee that the Librarian thinks fit to impose.
  3. Loss of a book should be reported immediately to the circulation counter.  If the book is not found and not returned after two weeks, the borrower shall pay for its replacement with departmental charges.
  4. Tearing off pages from a publication, any type of vandalism is punishable offence. Such students will be reported to the Dean and library facilities withheld for a period determined by the librarian.
